Dear Friends,

I want to thank you for your support this past week in Keene's municipal primary electron for Mayor. The Keene Sentinel and the City have published the results: Kahn 773 votes to 72 for Hutchinson. The vote has little consequence as the same two mayoral candidates will be on the November 7 general election ballot. In an election with a 6% turnout, it is reassuring that our campaign efforts yielded such successful results.

There are so many people to thank for their efforts in the Kahn for Mayor campaign. Five polling places were open for 11 hours and we had sign holders greeting voters for all but 6 of the combined 55 hours. We've distributed 230 lawn signs. We prioritized canvassing in Ward 3 because of the contested city councilor primary election. We've worked to keep you informed with regular communications about issues via newsletters, over Facebook, at kahnformayor.com and Sentinel coverage.

The general election is now 30 days away. This is the time when we need to step-up activity, not rest on our primary election success.

We will be directing efforts to reach more voters through:

  • Canvassing - Saturdays, leaving from JoAnn Fenton (16 Bradford Street).. Sundays, leaving from Jen Friedman's House (7 Allen Court).

  • Phone Banking - Beginning November 1, we will distribute lists for contact, phoning can be from your home.

  • Polling Place Sign Holders - Our goal is two holders at each polling place on November 7 from 8 am to 7 pm.

  • Other visibility events for an hour.

  • Letters to the editor

  • Meet and greet house parties to hear Keene voter interests and discuss ideas for enhancing public safety, housing and workforce opportunities, infrastructure improvements and civic engagements.

Let us know how you're able to assist. You can reach out to me at kahnjay03@gmail.com

Thank you so much for your support.

Sincerely,

Jay Kahn
